At PhysAssist Scribes, we embrace our role in the marketplace. Ever since the country started taking notice of
the value of our scribe services (somewhere around the turn of the century), we have continued to set the standards,
goals, and structure for the scribe industry.
Our recruiting team conducts market research, university meetings, application reviews and information sessions,
in order to teach what it means to be a part of PhysAssist Scribes. They also help potential candidates understand
the various functions and responsibilities of the position. Each candidate must pass a review test to be eligible
to sit for the next wave of tests. To be eligible for an interview, the remaining candidates must take and pass the
following:
- Computer skills and typing test
- Auditory recognition, retention, and comprehension test
- Vocabulary and medical terminology test
The candidates who are able to successfully complete these items are offered an interview. One in three of those interviewed will ultimately be hired as a trainee.
BEFORE becoming a PhysAssist "Scribe", "trainees" are hired, subject to their completion and passage of three separate days of Classroom Day Training that include:
- Intense HIPAA and Professionalism Training
- PhysAssist Scribes Expectation Requirements
- Basic Medical Charting
- Scribe Practice Scenarios
- Common Chief Complaints
- Eight (8) training shifts with a PhysAssist Scribes Certified Trainer Scribe (CTS)
- Post-Shift Competency Tests
- Multiple CTS and Physician Evaluations
While our success has, without question, spurred the creation of many other professional scribe companies, we are both honored and proud of the impact our innovation has had on the practice of emergency medicine.
