Improving healthcare with a new approach
Inspired by the infamously bad handwriting of doctors, one emergency department physician took matters into his own hands and put pre-med students to work alongside providers. This method not only enhanced training for students, but added valuable time back into providers’ schedules — and ensured a better experience for patients.
The method became so successful that in 1995, PhysAssist Scribes, Inc. was born. When hospitals later were required to adopt the use of electronic medical records (EMRs), PhysAssist Scribe services became an integral part of the medical treatment team.
Today, more than 20 years after we launched our first scribe program, PhysAssist Scribes has worked closely with more than 300 facilities across 36 states, refining the scribe model and setting the standard for scribe programs nationwide.
WE INVENTED the INDUSTRY
