Why should I become a PhysAssist Scribe?
Within the most established company in the industry, you’ll gain invaluable experience while getting your required clinical hours. Along with exposure to medical cases — while getting paid — you’ll have the advantage of learning about EMRs years before your classmates, access to medical mentors and more.
Do I have to pay for training?
No. We provide training at no cost to you, through I Am Scribe University™ (Scribe U™). Residency training shifts are paid hourly. After graduating to become a full-fledged PhysAssist Scribe, you will receive a pay upgrade.
How much are PhysAssist scribes paid?
Wages range, depending on the state in which you work. You will be eligible for pay rate increases after training is completed, and again as your tenure grows. You can also get pay increases by becoming a Trainer Scribe, Certified Trainer Scribe or Chief Scribe. Speak to your recruiter to learn more.
Is a flu shot required to work in the hospital?
A flu shot is required before you can work in a medical facility. PhysAssist covers the cost of basic bloodwork and your vaccination, per specific facility requirements.
Are there summer-only positions?
PhysAssist Scribes does not offer scribe internships or seasonal employment. You must make a commitment of a year to two years, depending on if you are full- or part-time.
How long does it take to become a PhysAssist scribe?
Following a successful interview, onboarding (including Scribe U™ and then residency shifts) begins. This can take anywhere from one week to two months, depending on facility availability.
